Antigone

First performed in Athens around 441 BCE, Antigone is the third-written but last in the narrative order of Sophocles's three Theban plays. After a civil war in Thebes, Antigone defies King Creon's edict by burying her brother, insisting that divine law takes precedence over human law. The play has become one of the defining Western texts on conscience, civil disobedience, and the limits of political authority.
