The Gospel of Luke

The Gospel according to Luke, composed in Greek probably around 80–90 CE, is the third and longest of the canonical Gospels and the first volume of a two-part work continued in the Acts of the Apostles. Traditionally ascribed to Luke, a companion of Paul, it is distinguished by its literary polish, its emphasis on Jesus' compassion for the poor and outcast, and its unique parables such as the Good Samaritan and the Prodigal Son. The text is the King James Version of 1611.
