Freud's A General Introduction to Psychoanalysis (Vorlesungen zur Einführung in die Psychoanalyse) collects the twenty-eight lectures he delivered at the University of Vienna in 1915–17, and is the most accessible and comprehensive statement of his mature theory. In three parts it treats the psychology of errors (slips of the tongue and the like), dreams, and the general theory of the neuroses, building from everyday phenomena toward the unconscious, repression, infantile sexuality, and the method of psychoanalytic therapy. The translation is G. Stanley Hall's of 1920.
